The Norwegian Armed Forces will be equipped with the PIORUN MANPADS manufactured by MESKO S.A. – a Company from Skarżysko-Kamienna, which is part of the PGZ. The agreement for MANPADS delivery was signed on November 29 this year in Oslo. Norway is yet another country, after Estonia and United States, that has decided to purchase PIORUN MANPADS.

Agreement on behalf of MESKO S.A. was signed by the Vice-President of the Company, Przemysław Kowalczuk. According to the contract worth tens of millions of Euros, MESKO S.A. will deliver several hundred PIORUN missiles and starting mechanisms.

This is yet another agreement that strengthens the position of MESKO S.A. and missile section of PGZ on foreign markets.

- The agreement is a result of an open procurement process where we have been competing against European and American suppliers of weapons of this class. The work performed by the PGZ Group throughout the last year has made our offer much better than the one devised by our competitors, and thus we have won the tender. This is not our final word of course. It is just a stop, along the way to expansion to external markets. This is what forms the foundation of our strategy for this product group. Briefly, we have been able to tailor our offer to the specific requirements of the Norwegian customer, which proves both our business and technological flexibility – states Dr Eng. Przemysław Kowalczuk.

As Przemysław Kowalczuk mentions, MESKO S.A. has huge business potential for similar transactions in the future. The agreement with Norway is not the last one to be expected in the near future.

MESKO S.A. has been cooperating extensively with the Norwegian Company NAMMO in the field of medium caliber ammunition for years, but the currently signed contract is the first for the supply of this type of armament to the Norwegian Armed Forces.
