On July 9, 2020, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki visited MESKO S.A. in Skarżysko-Kamienna, part of the Polish Armaments Group. The visit was an opportunity to meet the staff and the Management Board of the Company. During the meeting with employees of the Small Caliber Ammunition Production and Assembly Department in the presence of journalists, the Prime Minister mentioned worth 400 million PLN investment in modern defense production started in MESKO S.A. and announced another investment in the reconstruction of the production capacity of nitrocellulose in MESKO S.A. He also announced that he plans to expand the production of the Man-portable air-defense system PIORUN, to equip Polish army with this kind of weaponry. The Prime Minister wants the Polish industry to restore its production and technological capabilities and obtain independence from import purchases, therefore in consultation with the Head of the Polish Armed Forces and the Head of the Ministry of National Defense, a decision was made to invest further funds in the Company’s development.
