June 1 this year, The PGZ-AMMUNITION consortium and the Armament Agency signed a multi-year framework agreement for the supply of ammunition for the needs of the Polish Army. It assumes the delivery of hundreds of thousands of pieces of 155 mm artillery ammunition, but also envisages the conclusion of executive agreements with the PGZ–AMMUNITION Consortium, among others, for various types of 120 mm ammunition. The duration of the contract is till 2029.

The agreement concluded in Warsaw represents a new quality in the way the Armament Agency contracts ammunition for the needs of the Polish Army. Such a long time horizon specified in the contract allows the Consortium implementing it to optimally use the current production capacity, as well as future expansion of the potential. This is possible thanks to the guarantee of receiving orders for a period longer than 2-3 years. It also enables the development of much-needed production capabilities in the domestic defense industry. This approach confirms that the domestic industry can become “the pillar of defense”. It is the ammunition produced in the country that should guarantee the possibility of using the equipment owned by the Armed Forces.
