Demilitarization
On October 8, 2007 in Zakłady Metalowe MESKO SA the ceremonial completion of the construction of the Demilitarization of Outdated Combat Resources Plant was completed. Whereas after the assembly of the technological line was finished on March 31, 2008, the entire project entitled “Construction of Demilitarization of Outdated Combat Resources line at ZM MESKO S.A.” was handed over to use.
The constructed technological line will allow the utilization of small and medium caliber ammunition ranging from 5,56 to 35 mm, artillery rounds from 57 to 155 mm and fuzes, grenades, mines, propellants and explosives by detonation and combustion.
The utilization process is carried out in safe and ecological manner and meets the regulations of the national directive of the European Union.
The line used for thermal utilization of:
- ammunition ranging from 5,56 to 35 mm,
- grenades,
- fuzes, igniters, detonators,
- explosives without their dismantling.
The installation designed to melt TNT from the ammunition ranging from 57 to 155 mm using dry method:
- cutting and burning various types of ammunition,
- elements of explosives,
- removal of the ammunition rotating band.
The line meets all EU safety and environmental requirements (European Directive 94/67/EG).
