The maximum employment period was in the 1950s and 1960s, where nearly 22 thousand people worked in the factory and a 5-fold increase in production was achieved. Employees commute from towns located up to 100 km away from the factory. The company is renamed “United Metal Products Plant No. 2 in Skarżysko”.

 

A large achievement of the crew is to perform tasks designated by 3-year recovery plan and co-financing PLN 3.5 billion for construction. The following estates are being built: Upper Colony, Milica, Sports Stadion in Rejów, specialist clinic in the Factory Treatment and Prevention Center, Leopold Staff’s Factory Cultural Center, Factory’s vocational school, modernized Factory’s Sports and Leisure Center in Rejów and the Holiday and Sanatorium House in Kołobrzeg.

 

The first newspaper “Głos Metalowca” is launched, dealing with significant problems of the staff and factory, and a year later another factory newspaper  “Nasze Słowo” is also launched. At the request of the Worker’s Council and the Factory’s Council the honorary badge “For merits and many years of work at ZM” is established. A technical Bureau for looms and a company Design and Technology Bureau are established, and the construction and technological documentation of NIMFA, OLIMP and EROS bicycles is developed.

 

The product offer is extended with watchmakers’ lathes, internal combustion engines for bicycles, counting machines, car trailers, looms according to licenses from Sauer (Switzerland). New production lines for manufacturing of lighting frames are initiated – which became the beginning of a large-scale production and assembly of mercury frames. The management signs a license agreement with Meccanica Nouva in Bologna for the production of automatic grinding machines. The production records 1,000 TOURIST bike and a prototype batch of factory-built MALWA trailers.

 

A new technology for pressure casting is introduced. Agreements were signed in Stuttgart with G. Bauknecht Company on long-term cooperation in the production of multifunctional kitchen robots. The assembly line production of mechanized household appliances begins in the newly established Department of Market Products.

Awards and events:

  • For the first time, the Company takes part in the Poznań International Fair;
  • First prize in Poland in the development of rationalization (2070 projects);
  • Horse-pulled lawn mower receives First quality mark in 1968.
